Tax Collector Surprise
You and your platoon have been checking potential "hot" spots in your new area of operations. So far the day has been nothing but dry holes with little to no activity. With the scout and gunships running low on fuel as well as the slicks you're riding in the company commander decides to call it a day. This brings smiles to the faces of the men aboard the choppers because soon another day in the hot jungles of the 'Nam are almost over. As you look out the doorway of your chopper you can see the countryside and below you it seems like you're following a highway back to the base. When you look back towards the cockpit you can tell the pilots are talking about something and they seem a bit excited. All of the sudden one of the door gunners smacks you on the shoulder and leans in close to yell in your ear.
"Skeeter 1 spotted a couple NVA in the village up ahead." He shouts calmly. "The Captain wants you guys to check it out but you'll be on your own for awhile. We're almost out of fuel"
You know that Skeeter 1 is the scout ship that's with your convoy of choppers and almost as soon as the door gunner finishes talking the chopper your on dives to a lower altitude. "This is it," you think to yourself. "time to make Uncle Sam proud."
